Hembrug's high precision finish turning lathes hold down to a 4 Ra, less than 10 mil-inch roundness and diameter tolerances of under 0.0001".  This is done with hydrostatic slides and spindles, granite bed and housing, thermostatic control of the machine structure and hydraulics and a highly dampened machine design.
